Yoga for Life!

As an artist, I spend a lot of time sitting in the same position for hours. Not unlike an office employee.  This attributes to fast weight gain and back problems. It is very important to take time out each day to honor your body. I strongly recommend walking and practicing yoga for a balanced self.
Walking each day gives you time to reflect on your goals while at the same time giving back vitality to your body.
Practicing yoga will do great wonders for your overall well being. I have been practicing yoga for the past 3 years. I grew up with and still have scoliosis. I lived in great pain for over 20 years because of the scoliosis. Doctors would only suggest pain killers. And chiropractors only provided very short term relief.
I had some yoga videos by Gaiam that I did occasionally. I always felt good afterward. So I became disciplined and dedicated 30 minutes a day to practice yoga. Within the first 3 days my flexibility increased. Within 2 weeks I lost 10 pounds! And within 3 months I was stronger than I had ever been in my life. And my back pain was completely gone. It comes back if I neglect yoga for a few days. Yoga isn't a one time quick fix. Yoga is a life implementing tool but must be practiced regulary to reap its benefits.
I could go on and on about the good that comes from yoga. Not only does yoga improve your body quickly. Practicing yoga builds inner strength as well. Stress is forced out of you through your breath and the poses in yoga. This daily release of stress allows you to think and focus more clearly, renews your body making it younger longer, and just makes you more pleasant to be around!

Know Thyself

  • Music: Radiohead
To know yourself you must take responsibility for your Self. For every word you speak, for every thought you think, for every food you eat, for every penny you earn and spend. Now excuses. No blame. No try, just DO. Use what you have been given.
